The Americans call tartan, “plaid” – possibly because they had trouble understanding the Scottish accent. To a Scotsman, “plaid” is a woolly bedspread.
Tartan has been popular in Scotland for centuries, and was even banned in 1746. It was a manly thing to wear, and identified a warrior as coming from a particular region.
The question is, “are you man enough to wear plaid?”
Sizing: All Socksmith socks are “One Size Fits Most” – and will usually fit Mens NZ shoe size 7-13 (See our sizing guide for details and conversions). They are a comfortable fit with a bit of stretch and decent elastic around the top. There have a higher cotton count than our womens’ Socksmith socks, so they’re a bit sturdier.
